A JOURNEY THROUGH THE WESTERN ISLES OF SCOTLAND
May 21st - 30th 2008
Plus a special visit to Rosslyn Chapel of Da Vinci Code fame
Most of the western isles of Scotland are relatively small and off the beaten track yet their reputations around the world are impressive.
Who has not heard of Iona or Mull? Their stunning beauty and dramatic location certainly help and so does another unseen mysterious quality. In building their sacred sites on these remote islands our Neolithic and Celtic ancestors recognized this quality - the power and energy in the land.
Join us in exploring the stunningly beautiful and energetic islands off the western coast of Scotland. We are offering this journey because some of the most powerful and dramatic sacred sites in the British Isles are hidden away 'North of the Border'.
We will start at the most northerly of the Outer Hebrides – on the Isle of Lewis, the elegant stones of Callanish circle stand like a neolithic cathedral amidst the island's raw beauty; it has a north-south aligned leyline named after it.
As we meander our way south we will find that many of the sacred sites of these islands are empowered by the energy currents of the Callanish line.
This will also be a fun and dramatic journey as we take the local ferry-boats from island to island; from Lewis and Harris, to North and South Uist (pron: Yew-ist), to Mull, Iona and Arran.
We'll also explore some of the special places on the mainland such as the amazing Loch Nell Serpent Mound and Kilmartin Valley.
En route we visit holy wells, stone circles, faery glens, chambered cairns, a former spiritual university of the Middle Ages, a serpent mound, an abbey, early saints' churches, lochs, glens, mountains, islands, beach and ocean!
And at the end of this remarkable journey we will have a special guided tour of the Knights Templar sanctuary of Rosslyn Chapel with its many secrets.
The tour ends at Edinburgh, ideal for those wishing to stay on and experience a taste of this royal Scottish city's life for a few days.
This tour is being co-led by Glenn and Cameron Broughton and Marcus Mason.
