A Bardic Journeythrough the Heart of Scotland22nd-30th Sept 2007(9 days / 8 nights) Through much of the history of the Celtic peoples, knowledge and wisdom was kept safe and taught by the bards (poets) through story and song. We will travel in their footsteps as our journey through the Celtic heartland of beautiful Scotland is guided by intuition, storytelling, music and dowsing. We will be joined at various stages along the way by local wisdom keepers and guides. This will truly be an open adventure in a small group led by Gabriella Kapfer, Cameron and Glenn. The journey starts by flying into the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, a beautiful old city. Our first port of call is then Rosslyn chapel, the templar church made famous by The Da Vinci Code. Here we find many of the secrets of the Temple of Solomon and the Knights Templars. From there we venture out into the beauty of nature and the powerful sacred sites of Aberdeenshire. A natural cauldron hollowed out of the rocks by water, approached through a fairy wood, and a stone circle situated on a hill in the middle of a valley surrounded by mountains are two of the Earth power places honoured by countless generations. The second half of our journey is spent in and around Glen Lyon within the Central Highlands, the heart of Scotland. Glen Lyon is a place of mystery and magic, where several leylines cross and the oldest surviving goddess tradition in Scotland is still kept alive by the locals. Mt Shiehallion to the north is the protective guardian and source of power, a fairy-mountain and portal into the inner Earth. The ancient yew tree at Fortingall, now believed to be around 5,000 years old and the oldest tree in Europe, offers us a living connection to the wisdom of this special land. About our co-leaders on this tour
Gabriella Kapfer has a background in psychotherapy, gardening and farming as well as music. She co-ran a small retreat and healing centre in the north of Scotland for a number of years where she developed her sound healing work, inspired by the mystery school of nature which surrounded her. She has since traveled extensively through Europe and the US following invitations to bring her healing music to different parts of the planet. Gabriella holds musical meditations for different occasions, runs workshops on accessing and working with the inner voice, and co-facilitates vibrational healing workshops. She also works with sacred stone-setting to raise the vibration of the landscape. She has recorded several CDs of her music. She has recently been co-facilitating spiritual tours to the sacred sites of Scotland.
Barry Dunford first went to Scotland in 1972 and was immediately attracted to its spiritual and mystical aura. This resonated with his own quest for spiritual truth which guided his life. Over the years he found a spiritual affinity with certain kindred spirits as well as with the land of Scotland itself. For the past twelve years he has been engaged in researching aspects of the early Celtic history of Scotland and the greater British Isles with particular reference to the founding of an Apostolic Church of Christ in ancient Britain. This led in 2002 to his writing the book The Holy Land of Scotland: Jesus in Scotland and the Gospel of the Grail. Since 1997 he has been giving illustrated talks on his historical research and acting as tour guide around a number of sacred sites in Highland Perthshire.
Claire Hewitt is a storyteller and musician living in Aberfeldy, Scotland. She has had the privilege of singing with nomadic peoples of Kenya, indigenous Roma gypsies in the Czech Republic as well as working with Tibetan, Indian and Celtic musicians. She comes from the oral tradition of music and loves to sing songs which speak from the heart. Living in the Heart of Scotland has enabled her to immerse herself in the rich Celtic musical heritage and to begin to express through her music the wonder it is to be (human and) alive.
